Subaru Outback (BR): Transmission select lever


The select lever has four positions, “P”, “R”, “N”, “D” and also has a manual gate for using the manual mode.

A: REMOVAL
1) Remove the front pillar trim.
Pull the upper part of the front pillar trim towards the center of the
vehicle.
Insert long-nose pliers into the top part of the trim, grip the clip
with the pliers and twist 90º in that position.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage the pillar trim
The driver’s and front passenger’s seatbelts have a seatbelt pretensioner. The
seatbelt pretensioners are designed to be activated in the event of an accident
involving a moderate to severe frontal collision.
The pretensioner sensor also serves as a SRS frontal airbag sensor. If the senso
